Membership

If you are interested in joining the club, have a look though the information below. If you can not find something, just send us an email to usydsailing@gmail.com and we will try to get back to you within 24 hours or so.

Another important tool we use to keep our members up to date with the clubs activities is the club facebook group.

Cruising
Cruising members get the use of our boats and also have the option of attending weekend trips away. The trips are held over three days at a range of locations either north (such as Hawks Nest) or south, (such as Jervis Bay) of Sydney. A convoy of boats and cars usually leaves late Friday afternoon to the venue from which time the socialising and sailing fun begins. The trips usually cost $100 which includes lots of food, drink, the most scenic accommodation and two long relaxed days of sailing/windsurfing/chilling. The dates of trips are advertised a few weeks in advance. All attendees must be club members.

For the weeks when there is no trip organised, the club holds sail days down at WSC in Rose Bay. If your new to sailing, prefer the slower life or wish to polish up your skills, this is the time to do so. The sail days are usually kept relaxed as members get to go for a sail. With the founding of a club at UNSW, we have up to 50 people down at WSC, so there's always fun to be had. We usually run a BBQ and sometimes drinks so you can take a break between trips on our boats and windsurfers. Time on the harbour will get you away from everything, so that you can forget and relax.

Racing
Racing membership includes all the benefits of cruising membership and also the opportunity to use our boats in races at Woollahra Sailing Club. WSC is one of Sydney's premier clubs hosting racing events all year round. During the summer series, the fleet each weekend can be more than 50 boats. WSC is the host of the Sydney International regatta. The event attracts sailors from all over the world. During the winter, race numbers drop but the level of competition remains high, although the water can be cooler. If you have a wetsuit the harbour is accessible all year. If you want to get racing, this is the perfect opportunity to get some experience or build on the experience you already have.
$100 + SUSF membership ($55) (including club shirt)
